What is Invisalign?

At Kineret Orthodontics, we offer a variety of choices for your orthodontic needs, including the popular option of Invisalign! Invisalign is an alternative to traditional metal braces, and it uses a series of custom-made clear plastic aligner trays to gradually correct your bite.

Many people prefer treatment with Invisalign because the clear aligners are almost entirely unnoticeable while you wear them. Also, the trays can be removed while you eat, brush, and floss - so maintaining oral hygiene is much easier with Invisalign than with traditional braces.

Invisalign aligners are made of a smooth and comfortable BPA-free plastic that won’t irritate your cheeks and gums like traditional metal braces often do.

Who Uses Invisalign?

Invisalign can be a wonderful and attractive option for treatment, but it does have its limitations. Some cases may require a stronger and more comprehensive treatment option than the use of Invisalign trays, and Dr. Kineret is always very thorough in outlining which of our many treatment options will be best for you.

How Long Does Invisalign Treatment Last?

A typical Invisalign regimen will last for approximately 18-24 months, although each individual case varies on account of the complexity of the treatment needed. In general, you will upgrade to a new set of aligner trays every two weeks during treatment, with regular checkups with Dr. Kineret throughout your course of treatment to monitor progress.
